Golden Book of Alumni

Principles of honouring graduates of the University by entering them into the Golden Book of Alumni

 

  1. Graduates of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce, whose activities in various fields of scientific, sporting, social and organisational life bring pride to the University, may be awarded an entry in the Golden Book of Alumni after graduation.
  2. An entry in the Golden Book of Alumni can also be awarded to a first cycle graduate who does not continue their studies at UJK.
  3. In order to be included in the Golden Book of Alumni, it is necessary to graduate on time and obtain a very good final degree result (4.5 or higher) in accordance with the rules set out in the Rules of Study and to fulfil the student's duties set out in the Rules of Study in an exemplary manner. In addition, a prerequisite for entry into the Golden Book of Alumni is that at least one of the following conditions is fulfilled:
    1. receipt of the Scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education,
    2. receipt of a Diamond Grant,
    3. demonstration of a significant scientific achievement:
      1. authorship or co-authorship of at least one scientific article
        in journals distinguished in the Journal Citation Reports included in the A list of journals of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, or
      2. authorship of at least one scientific article in journals from the list of journals drawn up in accordance with the rules issued in Art. 267 sec. 2 item 2(b) of the Act on Higher Education and Science (JoL 2018 item 1668, as amended), or
      3. authorship of a chapter in a scientific monograph published by a publishers included in the list of publishers drawn up in accordance in accordance with the rules issued in Art. 267 sec. 2 item 2 of the Act of 20 July 2018. – Law on Higher Education and Science (JoL 2018 item 1668, as amended), or
      4. authorship of a scientific article published in peer-reviewed materials
        from the international scientific conferences included in the list drawn up in accordance with the rules issued under Art. 267 sec. 2 item 2b of the Act
        Law on Higher Education and Sience (JoL 2018 item 1668, as amended), or
      5. participation in projects involving research or development work financed
        in a competitive procedure by: National Science Centre, National Research
        and Development Centre, National Programme for the Development of the Humanities, European Union or the Member States of the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA), foreign institutions or international organisations, or entrepreneurs and entities working for the development of science,
    4. demonstration of a significant artistic achievement:
      1. participation in international competitions, reviews, art and
        design festivals (scored places), or
      2. winning a national art or design competition, review or festival, or
      3. the implementation into production of an artistic project selected through an international competition, or
      4. an exhibition or concert or performance at a foreign professional art promotion centre.
    5. the attainment of a documented high level of sporting achievement in an international or national competition, i.e.,:
      1. participation in the Olympic Games, World Championships, European Championships, or
      2. participation in the Universiade, World Academic Championships, European Academic Championships, or
      3. winning a medal in the Polish Championships or Polish Academic Championships,
      4. The achievements indicated under items (a) – (c) shall apply mutatis mutandis in competitions for persons
        with disabilities.
    6. achieving 1st to 3rd place or receiving a distinction in a prestigious national
      competition, e.g.: Student Nobel, Primus Inter Pares,
    7. receipt of the Rector's award for outstanding academic or artistic achievement.
  4. The decision to enter the Golden Book of Alumni is made by the Rector of the University.
  5. Applications for entry into the Golden Book of lAumni are submitted to the Student Affairs Department no later than 15 November each year. These applications are considered once a year, with a deadline set by the Rector.
  6. The application referred to in sec. 2 should include the basic data and characteristics of the candidate (including the name of the graduated faculty and the year of graduation), and information on their activities and achievements justifying the application. If deemed necessary by the applicant, written feedback about the applicant and details of persons who may be contacted for confirmation of the student's achievements may be attached to the application.
  7. The application must be accompanied by documents confirming the student's achievements.
  8. The template of the application for entry into the Golden Book of Alumni for academic or artistic achievements is attached as Annex 1 to the Ordinance. The template of the application for entry into the Golden Book of Alumni for sporting achievements is attached as Annex 2.
  9. Entry in the Golden Book of Graduates is confirmed by a diploma.
  10. An entry in the Golden Alumni Book cannot be granted to a student who has repeated a year of study during their studies (unless year was repeated due to health concerns).
  11. Requests for entry into the Golden Book of Alumni are made by the Dean at the request of the Director of an Institute/Department or the Director of the University Sports Centre.
  12. Administrative support for entry into the Golden Book of Alumni is provided by the Student and Doctoral Student Affairs Department.
  13. The Golden Book of Alumni will be on display in the Senate Room.
